When opening a new window on firefox I see a "homepage" (No URL offered at the top of the page), offering some helpful, frequently used shortcut icons followed by a number of headings, i.e. : Popular Today, Connections, Featured Videos, etc., providing image/links to stories from various "news" or "interest" websites, which I can click on to view. Opening a number of these sites in order to view the advertised "story" require setting up a free, or paywall account/membership, etc.. How can I eliminate these undesirable/unwanted options from being "offered" or shown on my firefox homepage? Something may look interesting, but I'm not one to sign up, or pay to view these opportunities. I see where I can eliminate entire Categories, but what I'm trying to do is block, or eliminate the "offer to view" what I deem "unwanted offers to sign up to view this "story". Can this "Junk/Bait" be eliminated from my homepage on a site by site basis? As examples: CNN, Wired", "the cut", among others. Can the page be configured to eliminate the offering of "Non-Free", "Non-Membership", "Non-Signup" Sites? (Apologies for my lack of appropriate semantics, I'm just a user, not an Internet Expert, developer, or or software-savvy person.) As an aside, is there a way to contact a real live human person at Mozilla/Firefox to assist with issues like this, or answer related questions. All I seem to find are circular links to "Contact Mozilla", which bring me to unrelated FAQ databases, and user forums, etc., where I find I'm unable to get an answer to the question asked? Thanks for reading and advising!

Hello, I somehow have gotten a slimmer sidebar that is attached to my bookmarks sidebar on the left. I can't get it to disappear without losing my bookmarks at the same time. When I re-open bookmarks it has this sidebar again on the side. Is it possible to get just this slim bar to go away? Thank you

Hi everyone,

I run a construction estimating website where we share project-based cost estimates and detailed breakdown for contractors, architects

I’ve noticed a weird issue in Firefox lately.

Some of the heavier pages (especially ones with large tables, detailed breakdowns, and embedded content) start getting really slow or sometimes even become unresponsive in Firefox. The same pages load completely fine and smooth in Chrome, so I’m trying to understand what Firefox might be struggling with specifically.

I already tried the basic stuff like clearing cache, testing in private mode, and disabling extensions, but the issue still keeps coming back.

It seems more noticeable on pages with a lot of structured data and embedded elements, so I’m wondering if it could be a rendering, memory, or layout issue on Firefox’s side.

Has anyone dealt with similar performance issues on Firefox with data-heavy or content-heavy web pages?

What should I look into next: layout structure, CSS rendering, JS execution, or something Firefox-specific I might be missing?

Any guidance or debugging tips would be really appreciated!!

Recently my system updated Firefox to version 149.0.2. It works great! However, it will not display my homepage which is yahoo.com. I can go to any other website and everything is normal. But when I click on the little house for "Homepage" it briefly displays and then goes blank.

This does not happen when I use a different browser.

Please advise.

I'm on Debian 13 stable with firefox nightly (tarball) downloaded from the firefox website with firefox running on wayland. I don't recall the exact time / build that this issue happened, but it has been persistent for over a week or two already.

The issue I am seeing is where secondary menus or popups do not scale properly in firefox. This includes Popups for extensions, right click menus, or even link previews (long click left mouse btn).

<See screenshots>

---

Things I tried with no luck:

  • Restarting my computer
  • Restarting firefox / Updating firefox from the firefox website (https://www.firefox.com/en-US/channel/desktop/)
  • Changing my display scale (100%) to (90%)
  • Changing firefox display scale from (130%) to (100%)
  • Refreshing firefox through the settings (aka clearing extensions and all the other stuff)
  • Switching to X11 and back to Wayland... X11 worked fine, but back to Wayland just got things borked again
  • Updating all system packages on Debian (nothing much except for security updates on debian stable)

Now the questions I have:

1. Is there a way to fix this issue? 2. Where could I file a bug for this issue? 3. Are there other people with this same issue?

Is anybody else having that problem? Seems to be yahoo search specific but not 100% sure.

Hello, Im using localized (Lithuanian) version of Firefox. Several updates back, Firefox started including russian and Polish in preferred languages by default. Personally i know how to remove those for myself. However, since im managing around 300 computers in a school. This starts to become an issue. In Lithuania we only have one official language. And when pages in a school start opening in foreign (russian) language this starts to be quite annoying. I would love to keep using Firefox but i need help.

I am running the latest public stable release of Firefox, 151.0.1 (aarch64), and these last few weeks I've been getting prompted to grant my location over and over every time I do a Google search. In MacOS, I've granted Firefox location permission and I've repeatedly saved me giving google permission but it doesn't stop. This is happening on my MacBook Pro and Mac Studio.

Anyone else? Any tips? It's maddening. lol
