When I try to download a pdf file from my bank, the downloader bails listing the file as "session.cgi" with no compatibility
Computer does not recognize the "session.cgi" as and Adobe compatible file, and suggests saving file to disk and opening from there, but I am not allowed that option

I don't know the cause of this problem, but I found a way to get around it. I just right clicked on the link and saved it as a .pdf. That worked.
This worked in the past but I can no longer open the file using Adobe Reader or Preview. The issue is not only with documents from my bank. As an example, here is a problem link to a file on the National Library of Medicine website:
http://dbgap.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/aa/wga.cgi?view_pdf&stacc=phs000016.v1.p1
I'm working on a Mac with OS 10.7.1 and FF 6.0.
