Save Bookmarks on Network Attached Storage Drive
Greetings...
I have multiple computers connected to a home network, with each computer using the latest version of Firefox. Instead of each computer containing its own file of Firefox Bookmarks, I would like to create a single bookmarks file on the Network Attached Storage (NAS) drive and point each of the computers on the network to save its Firefox Bookmarks to the bookmarks file on the NAS. In this way, all of the computers on the network would have access to and update the "master collection" of Firefox Bookmarks.
Is this possible? If possible, what do I need to do to accomplish this task? Please advise. Thank you very much for your help!

Hi Ted, that probably won't work, although I haven't tested it. Here's why I think that:
Firefox stores your bookmarks in a database file called places.sqlite, and their icons in a companion database file called favicons.sqlite. The bookmarks are stored together with history and split between a table with the URLs, the edited bookmark titles, and the visit dates. I don't think two Firefox installations can simultaneously share these database files. Even if they could, you also would end up sharing all the same history between the different installations.
Here is another thought: how about using Firefox Sync? You can deselect the other categories (such as saved logins) so that only bookmarks sync. More info in these articles:
