Hello folks,

I had 1025 tabs open in FF, in various groups using SimpleTabGroup. Somehow I've managed to get into a situation where, when I start FF, I get just three or four of my most recently used tabs on startup.

I have no idea how to get back to the 1025 tabs I really want, but when I close FF I'm asked whether I want to close 1025 tabs, so hopefully they're still available somehow...

Any advice gratefully received!

Thanks in advance.

NB: Firefox 103.0 (64 bit). Xubuntu Linux.

The Simple Tab Groups extension confuses me because it hides things when you switch between groups. Can you find your missing windows through its sidebar? To open its sidebar, if there isn't a keyboard shortcut, you can open the Bookmarks Sidebar using Ctrl+B and then use the sidebar title button to switch.

Maybe the add-on has a command to simply unhide everything globally (do not delete any groups!). However, I don't used this extension regularly, so I don't know most of its features.

You can look at this tool to inspect a compressed jsonlz4 sessionstore file, in your case sessionstore.js in the Firefox profile folder with Firefox closed.

You can use the button on the "Help -> More Troubleshooting Information" (about:support) page to go to the current Firefox profile folder or use the about:profiles page (Root directory).

Thank you both!

I was just about to follow cor-el's suggestions when I found jscher2000's reply and realised I'd been thinking about this as a FF issue rather than a SimpleTabGroups issue. I clicked on the STG icon, found all my groups intact and bingo. Job done!

I panicked a bit when I thought I'd lost 1025 tabs and started trying to solve the worst case scenario. Must investigate backing up STG..

Again. Thank you both!
