I am finding it impossible to access the following website from within a private window or with Firefox set to Never remember history...

https://groceries.asda.com/

I see the cookie warning, the top banner of the page and a spinning green circle.

The website operates as expected on my PC with Chrome in incognito mode.

Similarly, the same issue occurs with Firefox Focus on my Android phone, but not with In Browser or Dolphin Zero.

This is no deal breaker for me but I am curious about what may be causing it to happen.

Hi Cranky Granky, glad to see you on Mozilla Support Forum.

Try opening firefox in Safe mode:-

  • Find the Firefox icon or click Start and type Firefox.
  • Hold down the Shift key on the keyboard and then click the Firefox icon.
  • In the Firefox Safe Mode window, click the Start in Safe Mode option.

If it doesn't solved your problem, then feel free to ask in Reply Section. Thanks for raising your question in Mozilla Support Forum.

Thanks for the reply Shashank, but I'm afraid that starting Firefox in safe mode does not fix the problem.

As I mention above, this is not a major issue for me. In fact it's something I stumbled upon by accident after I created a new incognito profile and I am simply curious about why it is happening.

IMO it's because of the tracking protection, which is stricter in a private mode. Some important js library is being blocked, so you see only a spinning green circle.

That makes sense and sound like a possibility, although when I open the website in a normal Firefox window it tells me that "No trackers known to Firefox were detected on this page".
