I recently reloaded my computer so I'm running a fresh install of Firefox. I find myself constantly having to re-enter website login details. This goes for any site doesn't matter facebook, slickdeals, steampowered, any and all websites I have to re-enter my login details everytime I come to the site. I've already refreshed FF and I'm also in private browser mode. Doesn't matter problem is still there. I had this problem before a while back but I don't remember what the fix was.

I will add that most sites if I start to/ enter my user name it will pop up the little window with other user names for me to select which one or just continue typing then it will transfer my password as it should. It just doesn't keep me signed in like it should.

Was just at Monoprice.com checking on an rma. Clicked my account typed in my username and my password popped in the box so all I had to do was hit enter. I just don't stay logged in.

Did you save or recover any of your Firefox data from your old Firefox Profile folder?

A detail like a website remembering you (log you in automatically) is stored in a cookie.

You can use these steps to make a website recognize and remember you:

  • Create a cookie 'allow' exception to keep such cookies, especially in case of secure websites and when cookies expire when Firefox is closed.
  • Tools > Options > Privacy > "Use custom settings for history" > Cookies: Exceptions

Make sure that you do not run Firefox in permanent Private Browsing mode (Never remember history).

In case you use "Clear history when Firefox closes" or otherwise clear history.

  • do not clear the Cookies
  • do not clear the Site Preferences
  • Clearing "Site Preferences" clears all exceptions for cookies, images, pop-up windows, software installation, passwords, and other website specific data.
  • Clearing Cookies will remove all specified (selected) cookies including cookies with an allow exception that you want to keep.

Currently I have the following set:

Firefox will use custom settings for history Always use private browsing mode is unchecked Remember my browsing and download history is checked Remember search and form history is checked Accept cookies from sites is checked Accept third party cookies is Always Keep until they expire Clear history when firefox closes is unchecked

Well it was seeming to keep me logged in places but it just dumped me back out again of everything. This is getting very annoying.

Any other ideas? I even deleted the main cookie files out of profiles which has worked in the past when I had this problem and it's still doing it. Sometimes logging me out while I'm sitting on the same page after logging in.

Was just on a website trying to order something and it says I have to have cookies enabled to add items to cart. They are enabled!
