I forgot my master password and now I can't change or disable it. How do I recover it?
I can't remember my Master Password, and therefore can't use it, disable it, or change it. How can I recover it?

If you do not remember the master password then look at this support article.
The master password is used to encrypt the passwords stored in the logins.json file and without the correct master password you can no longer decrypt and access the passwords. You lose all passwords if you use the chrome URL or delete the key3.db and logins.json files to reset the Master Password.

Unless you remember it, all you can do is re-set it, and loose all passwords. This is a security feature for user safety.
One last thing. In the event that the passwords information is lost, you should record all information in a separate text file somewhere else on your hard drive, or written down. You can easily copy and paste if you need to do so. If you are concerned about someone else looking at that file, you can compress it using a password.

THis one does not work.
I don't want to re set I want to discontinue using or having a master password.

If you know the master password and no longer want to use it then change the master password and leave the field to enter a new MP empty.
If you do not know the MP then the only way to remove it is to reset the MP via the chrome URI or by deleting logins.json and key3.db.
If you reset your master password all your password will be deleted. I just looked it up. There must be another answer. Can I delete using a master password?
You can change the Master Password, and leave the new password blank so that there is no longer a Master Password.
It has three places . One for the original master password which I don't remember and two others for entering your new one. I tried just putting my new password. It doesn't work without the old one first. I don't understand what you're suggesting.italic text
If you do not know/remember the current master password then your only option is to reset the master password. If you think that there is still a chance that you might remember the MP and want to give it another try in the future in a new profile then you can backup the logins.json and key3.db files in the Firefox profile folder.
