Why do you keep removeing buttons from the interface such as the forward button? I should't have to spend hours figuring out how to get them back.

Every so often firefox updates take buttons away or move them around when they have already been customized. I expect this from arrogant Microsoft Programmers but I don't expect it from Mozilla. If I wanted to change how I have something set up I would do it myself. The forward button is missing and from what I can see I will have to add lines of code to fix it. I don't want to do that. I like having the "netscape navigator" style buttons. I don't like IE buttons if I did I would use IE. Just because the interface seems good to the people who program it doesn't mean that it is. Since you wrote the code you know how every little thing works. I have minor in comp sci but that doesn't mean that I want to sift thru the code to figure out how to use a program. If you want to keep market share make sure that you please your users not yourselves. I spent 20 minutes trying to find a resolution and nearly forgot the page that I was trying to get to by using it. That page is important to me. My time is important to me that is why I customize the buttons so that ALL the controls I need are readily available. I don't want to learn shortcuts, I don't want a work around, I don't want to have to research how to fix something that wasn't broken until there was an update.

Current Firefox releases only show the Forward button when there is forward tab history available after you have used the Back button. If there is no forward history then the disabled Forward is hidden automatically.

For some reason it isn't working correctly. I have had many instances where I had to find a page again after hitting the back arrow.

Do you see any history if you hold down the left mouse button on either Back and Forward button?

You can check for problems with the places.sqlite database file in the Firefox profile folder.
