Starting in Firefox version 154, Firefox on Windows lets you change the browser icon. Several icons are available to personalize how Firefox looks.

Note: This feature is currently available only in Firefox for Windows installed from Mozilla sources. It isn't available on macOS or Linux, or in Firefox installed from the Microsoft Store.

Change the Firefox icon

  1. In the Menu bar at the top of the screen, click Firefox and select Settings (or Preferences, in some cases).Click the menu button Fx89menuButton and select Settings.
  2. Select Appearance on the left and go to the Browser icon section.

  5. Close the Settings page. Any changes you've made will automatically be saved.

Unlock special icons

Some icons in the Special section are initially locked and can be unlocked by completing a specific action. For example, setting Firefox as the default browser and pinning it to the taskbar will unlock bonus icons.

Note: The new icon will only appear on the taskbar, desktop, and Start menu. The desktop launcher icon will not change.

Enabling a custom browser icon may add a shortcut to the Windows Start menu Programs folder.
