when i customize the toolbar i moved the refresh button to the left side of the address bar, i also put the stop button and home button there as well. but after i click done when i have finished only the refresh bar disappears, but i can click customize and it reshows up in the same spot only to disappear again after i click done. it used to work just fine in firefox 3.

Hi,

Please try exchanging the positions of the refresh and stop buttons. The two buttons now appear as one - while the page is loading it appears as the stop button and when the page has finished loading it appears as the refresh button - but you can separate them.

I've attached a screenshot. You may have to move one of the buttons around a bit until it settles down. Alternatively you can also add a Separator (View (or Alt + V) > Toolbars > Customize) between the two.

  • Open the Customize window via "View > Toolbars > Customize"
  • If the menu bar is hidden on Windows or Linux use "Firefox > Options > Toolbar Layout"
  • Drag the Reload and Stop buttons to their previous position to the left of the location bar.
  • Set the order to "Reload - Stop" to get a combined "Reload/Stop" button.
  • Set the order to "Stop - Reload" or separate them otherwise (Space or Separator) to get two distinct buttons.
