Why does Firefox save bookmarks, cache, and random files on my desktop?

Every time I open Firefox, it saves a whole bunch of files on my desktop, including my bookmarks, cache, extensions, and a lot of .rdf and .sqlite files (among others). Firefox is running from "C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\firefox.exe" NOT my desktop. If I delete the files, they come back as soon as I open Firefox again. How do I move them or keep them deleted?

Sounds that you have created a Firefox profile on your desktop.

Delete the file profiles.ini to make Firefox create a new default profile.

AppData is a hidden folder.

If you've used Firefox previously then you can check if you still have other profiles.
