Firefox 3.6.9 hangs when connecting to Google.com

I just upgraded to FF 3.6.9 and upgraded Adobe Flash; now it hangs whenever a webpage connects to Google.com. I can connect to any website that doesn't invoke Google but as soon as a site connects to Google (probably embedded maps) it hangs.

I uninstalled Adobe Flash, no improvement. Then uninstalled and reinstalled Firefox, still no improvement.
