Advertisements, Homepage and New tab problem in Firefox
When I open firefox the homepage is always replaced or override by either v9.com or "mysearch123.com" so that I have tried to rmove start page from registry, removed search engines from settings, delete the extensions, reset the homepage, reset firefox, uninstalled and then installed firefox but still my problem hasn't fixed. So, please tell me something new that I can try. I have Microsoft Security Essentials and some Ad Blocker installed.

When you check Options, is your home page correct? This article descries where you can check that: Startup, home page, tabs, and download settings.
If the setting is correct, does Firefox display the correct home page if you do either of these:
- Launch a new window (Ctrl+n or the menu)
- Click the home button on the toolbar
If the problem occurs only with your desktop shortcut, it might be hijacked. Here's how to check:
right-click the shortcut > Properties > Shortcut tab
(for pinned taskbar buttons, right-click the button > right-click Mozilla Firefox > Properties > Shortcut tab)
The "Target" for 64-bit Windows 7 should be no more and no less than the following. If there is anything extra afterwards, remove it:
"C:\Program Files (x86)\Mozilla Firefox\firefox.exe"
You might also take another look around the system for any software that might keep modifying Firefox. I brief:
(A) Open the Windows Control Panel, Uninstall a Program. After the list loads, click the "Installed on" column heading to group the infections, I mean, additions, by date. This can help surface undisclosed bundle items that snuck in with some software you agreed to install. Take out as much trash as possible here.
(B) Use one or more of the scanning/cleaning tools listed in our support article: Troubleshoot Firefox issues caused by malware. These on-demand scanners are free and take considerable time to run. If they finish quickly and especially if they require payment, you may have a serious infection. I suggest the specialized forums listed in the article in that case.
(C) Open Firefox's Add-ons page using either:
- Ctrl+Shift+a
- "3-bar" menu button (or Tools menu) > Add-ons
- in the Windows "Run" dialog, type or paste
firefox.exe "about:addons"
In the left column, click Plugins. Set nonessential and unrecognized plugins to "Never Activate".
In the left column, click Extensions. Then, if in doubt, disable (or Remove, if possible) unrecognized and unwanted extensions. Bear in mind that all extensions are optional, none come with Firefox.
Often a link will appear above at least one disabled extension to restart Firefox. You can complete your work on the tab and click one of the links as the last step.
