Web content disappears when I select the URL bar

Everytime I open a website and then click on a URL bar, the Web content disappears and it shows the home page of Firefox instead of the web content. I have attached a photo to show what happens.

Yes, this is happening correctly. The tab that you had open is still open and you can go back to it.

But this doesn't happen in any chromium-based browsers. Isn't there any way to stop the content from disappearing when the URL bar is selected?
