First of all, let me thank you for making Firefox desktop aware in Linux Mint Cinnamon. ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^  !!! To have the tabs reload on the last desktop is wonderful. I used to have to re-arrange the tabs every reload. However, the performance behavior has changed since using Linux Mint 18. I just upgraded with a fresh install of Linux Mint 20 Cinnamon, firefox 92 64bit Firefox for Linux Mint -1.0 I have about 10 tabs across 3 desktops. When I exit and restart the session, the tabs get recreated and start loading. But the Linux GUI generally grinds to a halt. I thought that firefox was locked up. However recently I just let it sit and eventually apparently the tabs loaded and the machine was normal again. So something is a bit off in the priorities of threads? I can only guess...

Interesting... Can download another copy of Firefox, run it from the folder, and perform the same steps? https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/all/#product-desktop-release

Hi- I have an update, I never suspected this, but I should have as it was a departure from my config under Mint 18- I added ADblocker Ultimate. Removing that and substituting AdBlock has made a big difference. I'll post back if I continue to see any misbehavior of v92 on Mint 20.2.

So I think I might as well not try another version at this time. But are you saying that I can download - and it just goes into a folder and if I run the .exe from there it will use only the software pieces from that directory? (Noob question, but I'm not that familiar with how installations work in Linux)

Thanks for responding!

No install process required. Just download, unzip, and run firefox-bin. see screenshots It's helpful have to multiple versions. You can run the same version as your distro, but from a folder to compare issues you find. I stopped running my distro version as my daily driver last year because the browser was losing my tabs on startup.

OK thank you very much. That will be a good tool to have for testing. I suppose I'll have to replicate my setup under that directory- ie: setup the tabs manually or copy the profile over.

Keep it simple and just use Sync.

I use sync to make copies of my browser data because I was losing tabs with my distro version of Firefox. Now I have my data on several versions of Firefox on different computers and if a browser loses my data, I can just send the data to that browser from another browser. see screenshot

Perhaps a good idea, I have avoided this because of not wanting fiscal related logins getting stored in the cloud. Comments?
