FF 69 Ubuntu 18 Dell Inspirion 13 5000 When any login page opens I can easily move the focus to the id box and enter the id. When I try to change the focus to the pw box, the process slows dramatically, to the point that if press a key a few seconds pass before the little dot appears. Worse, there is no indication that the focus is in the pw box, no blinking cursor, no color change. Worser, on some sites the computer just freezes with the legend in the bottom of the window saying, Waiting for x, x not being the same everytime, but I think it is other websites reading or planting cookies. At this point I reboot the computer. I have deleted and reinstalled FF - no extensions, no alterations - and the problem persists. I have wiped cookies, I have added/deleted hardware acceleration. Nothing I do seems to alter this behavior. On this machine I have successfully entered those same sites with Chrome (77.) Any advice/tips/incantations will be gratefully appreciated.

Try the Firefox version from the official Mozilla server if you currently use a version from the repositories of your Linux distribution.

You can create a new profile to test if your current profile is causing the problem.

See "Creating a profile":

If the new profile works then you can transfer files from a previously used profile to the new profile, but be cautious not to copy corrupted files to avoid carrying over problems.

I tried getting FF from mozilla, the problem still continues, so I will be using Opera instead of FF. This problem is closed for me.
