Dell Inspiron, Windows 10. Prior version of Firefox crashed the app as well as my laptop (CPU and/or Disk usage at 100%) following the automatic update overnight from 3/28/2019 to 3/29/2019.

Uninstalling Firefox completely corrected the 100% usage error.

Reinstalling Firefox 66.0.2 (32-bit) generated a download error. However, Firefox did install from the installer.

Opening Firefox generated a reg32.exe error (Bad Image) and forced Firefox to open in safe mode. A quick test indicates it may be working now in safe mode. Any suggestions for getting Firefox fully operational?

Full error text is: "C:\Windows\SYSTEM32\AcLayers.dll is either not designed to run on Windows or it contains an error. Try installing the program again using the original installation media or contact yous system administrator or the software vendor for support. Error status 0xc0000002."

Why 32-bit Firefox on 64-bit Windows?

As far as I can tell, AcLayers.dll is a Windows file (details screenshot attached). A Firefox update shouldn't affect that file, but possibly there is a new incompatibility. ??
