What could possibly cause multple entries, dozens in a row actually, that state "wifi calling - <myemail address> - Gmail?" Never used Firefox for any calls.

I have several unexplained entries in my Firefox Web Browser, and I am attempting to find out what could be the possible cause.

I have more than a few entries that have me checking my regular gmail mail, multiple checks in a row, proceeded by multiple entries which state:

"wifi calling - <myemail address> - Gmail?"

When I have never used Firefox for any wireless calls, have no extensions on Firefox to make calls of any kind actually. I am not even sure if its possible to make a FIrefox wifi call through phone, or PC without an appropriate extension.

Would you have any clue as to what would cause these entries? Based upon frequency of "calls" and email checks it looks like some program somewhere is trying to do something multiple times in a row, since its not me.

Virus or something of such, or is there another explanation?

Thank You Shawn Cary badger1966@gmail.com

Where are those appearing in Firefox?

A screenshot might be helpful.

See this support article. How do I create a screenshot of my problem? It is best to use a compressed image type like PNG or JPG to save the screenshot and make sure that you do not exceed a maximum file size of 1 MB.

They appear in History, when opening up History from browser as links I've visited, through Firefox over last 7 days.

Now a person (with small jealousy streak) who I won't mention wants to know where come from. I haven't an idea.

There's almost 2-dozen in a row, so I'm assuming it's a program or app that's doing it. Can send screen shot in a bit, but history shows a few dozen of these lines, which I have no clue as to what would cause this, and I'm not even sure if I could do it on purpose.

Will upload screen shot in a minute.

"wifi calling - <myemail address> - Gmail"

severa dozens in a row, in History.

Here is screen shot. No idea what that is, but it looks like an app or something is just repeating it over and over..

No firm ideas, but a few questions.

Do you use Gmail on that PC?

How about Google Voice with the same Google+ account?

more options

Yes I use Gmail on PCs and Gmail apps on phone and tablet.

I have Google Voice, which I use at work as an office phone, but only use that on Chrome, and do not have Google Voice extention installed on Firefox Browsers or any device I have which has Firefox, which is all of them

This, of course, makes these entries in History even more bizarre. I do not see how one could even attempt wifi contact, apparently through Firefox. Just does not seem possible without at least one voice extention installed on Firefox. And as far as I know Firefox on phone has nothing to do with rare wifi calls I make.

Could it be something harmless like a cookie or phone app that's confused, or something more malicious, such as infection trying to get comms through Firefox somehow??

It's probably harmless and I think it may be connected to a Google+ account and the "wifi calling" label is a misnomer coming from having a Google+ account that has Voice setup for that account.

Do this to come up with times / dates each of those History items have. At the top of the Library where it says Names, Tags, Location - do a right-click and un-check Tags (to free-up horizontal space) and then click on Most Recent Visit. Then you'll be able to see the time stamp for each of those entries and try to figure out if those would have been times when you viewed Gmail.
