Downloads stop downloading when using Firefox, but the exact same file completely downloads when using Internet Explorer, why is this so?

Downloads will not completely download when using Firefox, but the exact same download from the exact same web site completely downloads when using Internet Explorer. Is there something I can chage in the settings of Firefox.

It is possible that your anti-virus software is corrupting the downloaded files or otherwise interfering with downloading files by Firefox.

Try to disable the real-time (live) scanning of files in your anti-virus software temporarily to see if that makes downloading work.
