no theme that i install will work on my firefox even after restarting firefox or clicking on button that says use this theme.what am i doing wrong?

i click on download button to download theme to firefox.it installs ok,then you restart firefox as it says.theme is not there,nor has it been applied after i restarted firefox. i go to addons,themes, then click on use this theme,still nothing has happened
