Can't get Master password to work to secure logins and passwords in Lockwise for Android??

more options

I have set up Lockwise on my laptop and my phone to sync - which it does. To protect the logins and passwords it holds I set a Master Password. This works fine on the laptop asking for the master password if I want to look at the logins and paswords. On the phone all it requires is my 4 digit phone pin number and will then display all the passwords with no further security. This makes it useless as there is no serious security - if I lose my phone all my passwords go with it. There must be some way to make the master password work on my android phone???

No, that is not possible. On Android the Lockwise App works differently than Lockwise in Firefox on desktop. On desktop Lockwise is part of Firefox and uses the master password to access encrypt logins stored in logins.json in the profile folder.

In Android the Lockwise App doesn't store logins locally, but connects to a Firefox Account to retrieve the logins, so a master password is not possible because the passwords are not stored encrypted on the Sync server (each device can use its own master password). The Lockwise App is merely a shell to display content loaded from internet, so you can instead disconnect Lockwise from the Sync account to force Firefox to ask for the password of this Firefox Account. Note that on Android apps might still be running in the background if you close the user interface (e.g. Firefox needs to be closed via Menu -> Quit to reset the MP).

I think that Lockwise is useless as it is now : do not encrypt the passwords with the master password defeats the whole purpose ! @ Mozilla Devs : please add this feature.
