I would also suggest reaching out to the manufacturer directly to get this looked into, in case it's a device-specific issue.

I think it's a software problem as the radio volume is fine. Mp3 files are audible at full volume but drowned out in noisy environments such as traffic noise, people talking in a cafe etc. And like I say Youtube videos are barely audible as are videos on vimeo and other sites.

Estimated fix date: The 12th of never.

I had similar problem on my laptop after FF upgrade. I had to resort to using Chrome through which YouTube audio was fine. I am happy to report that the issue went away after reading one of the help files on Mozilla. I rebooted my laptop into Safe Mode and accessed several YouTube videos that played without any audio problem. When I rebooted into full mode, the problem seems to be corrected. Whatever the cause it was fixed when I used Safe Mode access. YouTube audio volume seems to be ok now when I boot in full mode and use Firefox Mozilla. Maybe you can do something similar on your phone.

Thanks for reply. Not a bad idea, although I'm not sure if the phone has a safe mode as such, and if the phone would support another browser. Also I'm not sure it would be wise to use a different browser in a phone configured for Firefox. I'll try the safe mode thing though. Can you post the link to the help file you read if it's not to much trouble? Above all, I'm sure it's still a software problem that would be fixed with an update.

I think I got the idea about rebooting in SAFE MODE by reading through the information found in the article accessed via the following link:

I just looked at the article again and noted the following:

"Problematic extensions can interfere with audio or video content, including the RealPlayer Browser Record Plug-in extension (installed with RealPlayer) and NoScript. Disable your extensions (restart in Firefox Safe Mode to disable all extensions) or test the problem site using a newly-created profile. "

I didn't disable any of the extensions as suggested but decided to see what happens in FF Safe Mode before doing so. The volume was back to normal in this mode. I didn't do anything other than rebooting into normal mode. The computer did its magic and "miraculously" fixed the issue. I'd like someone to explain to me the reason for this. In the meantime, I'm glad the fix is in.
