Strange - some folders open expanded but others do not and different each session!

I am running Supernova version 115.5.2 and have a strange situation (maybe it's normal) when opening it. If I have received any emails for any account in a previous sess… (மேலும் படிக்க)

I am running Supernova version 115.5.2 and have a strange situation (maybe it's normal) when opening it.

If I have received any emails for any account in a previous session, then when I open a new session, the folders for these accounts open expanded and other accounts that did not receive any emails, remain collapsed.

I know there are others who have various issues regarding all folders expanded or collapsed but in Thunderbird before Supernova, I always collapsed all my folders and opened a new session with everything collapsed.

So can anyone tell me how to set-up Supernova so that when I collapse all my folders at the end of a session, a new session will open with all the folders still collapsed?

My Thunderbird 115.10.2 (64 bit) is lately running very slowly. Message content takes forever to show. Sometimes don't show at all. Sent messages take 20s to save.

I was thinking that my files were simply too large, so I erase everything before 2022-01-01. Where we are now:

  Inbox            13,662 messages 3.0 gb
  All Mail         22,722 messages 5.8 gb
  Sent mail       5,175 messages  1.2 gb
  Important    13,093 messages  3.1 gb
  Other             4,700 messages (approx)

Questions: 1. Can I delete the "Important" messages, thereby perhaps freeing up 3.1 gb? In which case how do I do that?

2. Does this look like too many messages for TB? It's two and a half years worth. Like to keep it, but not at the expense of making the system so slow.

I have removed the databases twice and started with a new instance of TB, which is where we are now.

I recently un-installed an old version of Thunderbird that was showing a vulnerabilty and would not patch itself to the latest version for some reason (old version was in the 60s). I had all mail stored in a non-standard folder on my D drive so that it would be included with my backups. After uninstalling, my non-standard folder is still there. However, the location where Thunderbird was originally installed was removed and that is not included in my backups.

I installed today the newest version of Thunderbird, but I cannot get it to open my old mail. I'm able to login to my accounts, but I need to access the email stored in my non-standard storage file.

This question was asked before but no one gave a reasonable answer. I use Thunderbird to download emails from two live.com accounts. The old version had a split screen with the list of emails for the account being viewed in the top half and a preview of the actual email being viewed in the bottom half along with action buttons such as delete. This supposedly also kept viruses from being downloaded until the email was actually downloaded. This made deleting a series of emails very easy. The version I downloaded today doesn't have the split screen. I have to actually open each email to delete it. Very time consuming. How can I set up the old format in the new version?

This is VERY difficult for me to even see… and navigat9ng thunderbirds menus has always been very difficult and not user friendly. Add to this the confusing reordering of emails received so that newer emails now stack UNDER older emails…. And its completely frustrating to find anything. I have to scroll down hunting for possible new emails burried down below dozens of others on a tiny scrunched window. PLEASE how do i change it back…. This is too difficult to function in………

When I realized the problem I changed out the '@' but I can't change the password in Thunderbird. New emails are accessible in Gmail and Outlook but Thunderbird doesn't show then and nothing happens when I use 'get messages'. I need to delete the problem account to re-enter it, when I try to add the email address as a new account Thunderbird just says it already exists and does nothing.

Hi. I love Thunderbird! But I cannot use a Gmail account.

It all started when I changed the underlying password for my Gmail account (for routine security). I changed the password too on my Thunderbird client for SMTP and IMAP.

But then it popped up with: https://accounts.google.com/v3/signin/identifier?app_domain=http://localhost& [etc]

it keeps giving me this message:

"400. That’s an error. The server cannot process the request because it is malformed. It should not be retried. That’s all we know."

I've tried to read online what's going on. I've deleted the account and tried to set up again, and closed Thunderbird. It keeps doing this. I've checked Google settings ... nothing untoward. It doesn't have a link to Thunderbird still.

What can I do?

Performance tanking when using quick filter

Whenever i use quick filter to look for email. Thunderbird would tank and massively slow down. Is this common problem or is it just me. Sometimes the performance hit also… (மேலும் படிக்க)

All emails disappeared after the web server was changed

It is supposed that all emails (received & sent) are saved locally in Thunderbrid. I moved my hosting account from one provider to the other provider, I setup same email address as i had with the previous provider and also using in the Thunderbrid. I could still see all the emails but Thunderbird asked me for a new password. Things were ok up to this point but when i entered the new password, all of a sudden all the emails of that account disappeared. Surprisingly when i try to search something using search toolbox, Thunderbird shows me result from all the emails that are disappeared.

I believe emails are still there but disappeared due to some glitch & that need to be fixed in the code. Can anyone please provide me a work around or development can fix this bug & release a new version ?
