Hello, I'm using Thunderbird (and before Netscape Messenger) already 30 years. With this new version 115.4.1 (32-Bit) I'm now experiencing the symptom, that, when I reopen one of the mailboxes the focus is not in this mailbox on the last read mail as it was always in earlier versions, it now focusses somewhere so that you always have to scroll to the point where you have been last time.

When composing an email and attempting to select an address from the 3 email accounts I use in Thunderbird, I am having difficulty selecting the email address I want to use. I'm clicking on an email address that opens Thunderbird in a compose window when this happens. It is a new issue but has been present a couple of weeks at least.

Hello, as soon as TB Thunderbird was auto updated to the new version 115.4.1 (64-bit) 2 weeks ago, it keeps freezing randomly but often for several seconds when you click inbox folders from Any Emails I have: Private, Outlook, Yahoo, or Google.

It does also freeze randomly while I write emails or I check other folders. It take so much longer to deal with emails all together.

It tends to do it if the program has been opened recently but also in the midle of the day or while writing emails, for no reasons.

The previous version was also slower but was at least manageable.

What is going on? Any hints or different solutions are appreciated. Best Regards, Chris

Since updating to 115.4.1 under Windows 11 (fully updated), Thunderbird regularly (about every 24-48 hours) freezes up and needs to be shut down with Task Manager. What's up??

I may have had this answered, but my email issues prevented me from seeing any answer.

I use Thunderbird with my gmail account. When I run Thunderbird on my computer, I don't load any emails (I do get emails on my iPhone). I get this error message: "Authentication failure while connecting to server imap.gmail.com." What does this mean and what should I do?

After loading the latest update, I can't send emails. Spamhaus is blocking them. this is an example of the error message... this is a business I have emailed before and they are in my address book, it is doing the same with other addresses

Cannot send or reply to emails. Can receive them fine. Alert message says "An error occurred while sending mail. The mail server responded >jlheiman@charter.net< sender rejected. Check account address settings and try again." Account settings are correct. What do I do?

New installation of Thunderbird on WIndows11 - cannot send mail - get the follwoing error message: "outgoing server smptgo.lanlime.com failed. The server may be unavailable or is refusing connections. Please verify that your outgoing server SMTP setttings are correct." WHERE DO I LOOK TO FIND THESE SETTINGS///

I'm using Thunderbird with my hotmail account and have never had a problem before yesterday. Now I get this error message. "Unable to write the email to the mailbox. I have used Thunderbird for years and I use it for work. For the last two days, it has started to go slow, and it will freeze and I have to close out of it. This JUST started, and this morning it is almost not functional.

I have looked everywhere I could find to see what I can do and I cannot find anything. I even tried re-installing it.

Hello. Currently receiving the following error pop-up with Thunderbird 115.4.1 on Win 10 22H2:

"Unable to write the email to the mailbox. Make sure the file system allows you write privileges, and you have enough disk space to copy the mailbox."

This occurs when fetching new email from an sbcglobal.net POP3 account. Settings: inbound.att.net, port: 995, SSL/TLS, OAuth2. These settings have worked successfully for years until yesterday NOV 6 2023.

I have several other POP3 accounts all using the same settings shown above but none of them are triggering the pop-up error.

Can an expert please advise the specific conditions that trigger this error so I can determine where the fault lies? Example: Is this Thunderbird's interpretation of an error condition being transmitted by the email server requiring interaction with service provider? Is this Thunderbird's response to an internal problem like not enough disk space? (even though there is plenty)

A solution would be nice, but an explanation re: the triggering mechanism is absolutely required. Thanks.

Recent update switched all folder to show messages grouped into threads. This makes it harder to find new messages. As a result I did not see an email inviting me to a job interview for 2 months. Far too late to act on it.

Updates should NOT change any configuration settings. This is NOT acceptable.

Also, I have a lot of folders. There seems to be no way to set them all to unthreaded all at once. So now, I have to go through them one by one changing them back to the way it was.

I needed that job desperately and now I'm screwed. If I don't find a job in the next couple of weeks, I could be homeless.

The irony is that I have over 35 years of experience writing software but I can't find a job because of age discrimination.

The page layout and functionality has changed. I keep getting a message about imap! I have not made any changes to anything. It's just not working, i am very lost with it. Help please. John K-D

I work with my tabs a lot. When I open an attachment, Thunderbird opens a new tab and buts the content of the attachment (pdf) into a new tab. Often I need to save my work and stop working that day, and just let my computer go into sleep mode with Thunderbird still open in windows. In the previous versions, I could just start working the next day, and all my tabs are populated with the attachments and information I left open the day before. With this new update 115.4.2 (32-bit) it does not retain any of the information in any of the tabs that were previously left open. It only happens when the computer has been sleeping overnight or for an extended period of time. If I put the computer to sleep and then wake it up pretty quickly it keeps the tabs just fine. Very frustrating

This started two days ago and I've been searching the web for solutions, but all I get are outdated solutions that won't wonk on my current Thunderbird version 115.4.2. When I open the Thunderbird window, two smaller windows open asking for me to enter the passwords for the two att.net accounts. I assumed they meant my AT&T passwords but when I entered them they came back as "failed". I then tried the "master" password I put in several years ago (which I have never needed to re-enter) and that didn't work either. I am attaching a photo of what comes up when I open Thunderbird. You can see the two boxes that want me to enter the passwords but I have no idea what to enter. If it wasn't my master password or my AT&T passwords for each account, it must have been something I used when I installed Thunderbird ten years ago that somehow got deleted or lost.

I downloaded another email client to use temporarily until I get my Thunderbird fixed so I can not get my emails, but I hate this new client for a lot of reasons that are irrelevant here. I hate this new client and I need my Thunderbird back. Can anyone give me any idea on how to find the right password or to change the password so it will work again?

I keep getting the following error message when opening my Thunderbird e-mail desktop application: Sending of username did not succeed. Mailserver pop3.mail.dk replied: invalid command

What could the problem be and what is the solution?

version 115.4.1 table view. cant resize the FAR RIGHT column no matter what. instead of moving to right and DEcreasing in size, its INcreasing the size of the column on the left..
