Hi, I run TB on 2 machines. On one (running Win10) Supernova downloaded automatically, odd as I thought you had to opt in to get it. (The other running Win11 is still on v102). No problem as it looks good. (I'll make any suggestions separately.) But I'm concerned about migration as I have a lot of messages, both archived and in live folders. Judging by some forum responses version 102 should still be lurking in the background. Is that right? And if so what's the migration plan once Supernova is out of beta? And as I was about to move storage location from C: to D: for space issues, is it best to hold off until Supernova is fully live?

TB version: 115.1.0 (64-bit) Windows 10 (corporate laptop)

Fresh laptop, fresh install of TB.

When trying to connect email@example.com (not really my email), TB correctly detects that my domain is hosted at Google, configures IMAP and SMTP for OAuth2, and pops up the window to authenticate.

Instead of an authentication prompt, I'm met with this error:

Thunderbird detected a potential security threat and did not continue to accounts.google.com because this website requires a secure connection.

My account was set up maybe 10 years ago, which I presume was before authenticators and password managers were used in the app. With a recent PC switch I have forgotten the password. I've looked everywhere for an easier way to contact you through e-mail, chat or through calls but posting a thread and hoping you see my post looks to be the only way to reach your support. I can of course describe my inbox, saved messages, etc. I know my father went through the same process and actually went about calling you to get his thunderbird account fixed but this was a few years ago, so if anyone knows of a better way of contacting them other than this post I would appreciate the help.

My mother would like to export her very extensive address book in CSV format for safekeeping and eventually for porting it to a new email address. She recently updated to Thunderbird v. 115. I can find help for exporting address books in previous versions. In v115, under Tools, I can only find that a zip file of everything in the profiles directory can be made. Am I looking in the wrong place? Any suggestions besides downgrading to v. 102?

I've just upgraded Thunderbird to 115.0.1 from (I think) 102. Now it fails to connect to any mail servers, either IMAP or SMTP: when trying to access mail or send it, Thunderbird just hangs and does nothing. I use Office 365. I tried deleting one of the accounts and recreating it, but it hangs at the point at which it says it's checking password. Does anyone know how I can get Thunderbird working?

I am completly confused with migration, I want to move T/bird as I have it in Win 10 to a new machine with Win 11.

None of the articles make sense, the link to the "profile folder" takes me to a big list of things not recognised here:

C:\Users\R-LT-NOVA\Downloads\tfr data

The R-LT etc is the name of this machine.

Thunderbird is working fine but there is nothing under users>AppData>Roaming>Thunderbird although a "prifile" there does seem to point to the file above.

I set up thunderbird email account on my computer and my iphone. I can only send and not receive emails on my computer account and I can only receive and not send from my phone account. When I try to send emails from my phone the email bounces to my outbox where it sits and I get a message that says "Cannot Send Mail The sender address was invalid" I think something was off in the initial setup because this problem has persisted from the beginning however I cannot figure out how to fix it. Need help please so that email sends and receives from either location: computer or iphone.

I have cleaned and re-cleaned existing Thunderbird installation; export still creates a 2.7GB file which import fails with. HOW DO I MIGRATE MY PROFILE? (Firefox migrate was smooth as butter) I have used Thunderbird for 10 years, but am ready to switch to a different mail client if I can't get it migrated. PLEASE HELP!

Hi, sorry to ask, but my E drive (where I keep data, etc) died. I do have backup and have the whole Thunderbird\Profiles folder. I watched the YT video, but I don't get it. It should just be easy to point the whole folder to it. All my stuff on C is fine, so it does come up with the email accts and the address book. I did try to do an Import, but got errors. Please Help! I am an OLD IT guy, so I am not stupid. It should be easier than this! I will attach 2 pics. Maybe someone will take pity on me...LOL.

FYI, I use an Over 10 year old W7Prof Installation, migrated thru about 3 pc's, on an i-5 (yes, I am lazy And Love W7) and my 1TB hard drive is over 12 years old (yes, I know...don't ask), And It DIED. So you can imagine what I been going thru since last Sat!!! WHAT A MESS AND BRAIN STRAIN!

Also, I HATE Gmail Web Mail!!!

Oh, and I have donated before. I had Windows Live Mail forever, but when Googley put the OAUTH PW mod in, I had to switch. I do like T-Bird. Sorry to write so much...Thanks again...

What is the minimum version of Ubuntu to install Thunderbird 115 supernova? I'm on 20.04 on ZorinOS.

And by the way, when are you planning to make it available on APT?

I reinstalled TB and copied profiles to new version, but Local Folders is empty. I've tried copying from the original files but they don't appear in Local Folders. Is there a trick to doing this that us idiots can use?

I tried to move my emails from the Webmail 7.0 app, but all that came were my inbox emails. How do I get my "sent" emails—and emails in other folders—to Thunderbird?
