I've just bought a Kindle Fire HD8 Plus and can't seem to download Firefox so I can sync the device. When I try it says "currently unavailable". Why would a download by currently unavailable?

Firefox just updated, without my permission, which is another problem. But now when i try to open pdf files, firefox always ask what to do. In Options > General > Appliacations i set pdf files to open with firefox, but firefox still asks what to do. In the window where it asks what to do, there is a tick box saying "Do this automatically from now on", even if i choose that option it still ends up asking what to do the next time i open a pdf file.

Firefox worked fine for me until last week. I tried to install a new copy and I get the following message -

THE CODE EXECUTION CANNOT PROCEED BECAUSE VCRUNTIME140_1.DLL WAS NOT FOUND. REINSTALLING THE PROGRAM MAY FIX THE PROBLEM.

No matter what I do, I cannot get this to install.

It appears to install but when I open Firefox and try to navigate to a website it is dead in the water. Will not connect to internet!

The profile folder on the new installation is to be replaced with that from the old. So far so good, I've copied the profile folder from Windows and now want to exchange it for the profile folder on the new Ubuntu computer. Problem is that this is the very latest Ubuntu version (only a few weeks old) and there IS no profiles folder in Firefox!

What there is, is a profiles.ini file but I am reluctant to put it in there because it does not appear to have anything to do with the contents of the ex-windows profile folder.

There is an option to create a new folder but I'm not at all sure what this would do.

I'm trying to import my saved logins and passwords from Chrome to Firefox. When to try to do this I get prompted to create a Primary Password. Whenever I try to do this, I get a message saying, "Unable to set Primary Password." I also can't cancel out of this or switch to another tab--I have to ctrl-alt-del and close Firefox to get out of it. I also can't create a Primary Password through the options menu. Anytime I try to set a primary password it just says "Unable to change Primary Password."

I am restarting FF. I am on 76 and the install is for 77. A window pops up asking for my credentials to install a new helper tool. I don't recall seeing this before and it looks a lot like Oracle's Java installer that tries to install a bunch of crud. In that case cancel continues with the Java install. In this case, Cancel stops the FF upgrade.

What is this tool and why is it not described better to know have a better guess as to whether it is safe to install?

I lost bookmarks and user passes after firefox update. new version of firefox is 77.0.1 (64-bit) I read the related questions but did not understand how I could recover. and attached pictures of my profile.

I have downloaded the latest browser today. I can access my Yahoo Mail, but I cannot delete or send any mail from it when using this browser. My Yahoo Mail is now useless when using Firefox. Please advise me of the solution to the problem as soon as you can.

I want to transfer the profile from an old PC running Windows 7 to a new PC running Windows 10. I've copied the old profile to a USB stick. After much searching I've found the profile created by the new installation, but it seems to appear in two folders: AppData/Roaming/Mozilla/Firefox/Profiles, and AppData/Local/Mozilla/Firefox/Profiles. Should I simply substitute the old profile for both instances of the new profile? NB This message is posted from a different platform (Mac) Thanks

A day ago I did the Firefox update to 75.0. Since then I have had trouble viewing ebay items. After you do a ebay search a list of items show up. When you open an item from a search list, you get a photo of the item usually on the left side and a description below the photo item. However, below and after the description everything including other seller photos and text are on the left side of the page. Normally they are across the page from the left side to right side. But now the layout is all on the left side. Everything is against the left side only and very hard to read. For many years I have never run into this problem before. I signed off and restarted Ebay with same problem. Looked at my son's computer and the ebay layout looked correct like like mine use to. I also opened up my google chrome browser and signed onto ebay. The ebay photos and text were correctly located on the page. So it appears that the recent update to firefox will not display the correct layout format in ebay. Can I download to the previous version of firefox? I 'm using latest Firefox browser 75.0 and running Windows 10. I attached a screen shot photo.

Greetings.Every time I try to download any torrent file browser asks what program to use. I always press open with Mutorrent and press button use as default program but every time I try to download it alwas ask same.I try a lot of things and nothing seems to help. Very annoying because instead of one click you need to do it 3 times and wait a delay.

I shut down my PC without closing the Firefox brower tabs and I started getting this message the next time I re-booted and tried to start Firefox. --- "Firefox is already running, but is not responding. The old Firefox process must be closed to open a new window." ---

I read thru the different support forums and tried various answers/suggestions - no luck. Bottom line, I have uninstalled the browser, deleted all the old Mozilla folders from the machine and downloaded the .exe to try to re-install the browser. However, the installation crashes at about 70% completion and I still get the message listed above. I am running on Windows 10 and the PC is up to date with all patches.

I would appreciate if anyone can help me figure this issue out.

Hello, I just restarted my PC after a Windows 10 update (Windows Update). Launching Firefox from the task bar no longer worked (link removed). So I launched Firefox from the start menu. A completely blank version of Firefox appeared on the screen, as if I had just installed it. No more favorites, no more extensions, no more customization. All Firefox installation files in the AppData directory are dated today. How can a Windows update remove a Firefox installation? Is it possible to recover favorites and bookmarks? Background: I'm currently tutoring full-time, and the site I use allows tutors to download the session afterward as a .zip folder. In the past this has been incredibly helpful, because it allows me to review my lessons and improve my planning.

Current Issue: For some reason Firefox now appears to be misinterpreting these ZIP files as PDFs. When I begin the download, Firefox gives me the option to either open (as PDF) in Firefox, or to download. At this point (before any download occurs) Firefox has already labeled the file as a PDF. If I open it in Firefox, obviously it doesn't work (being a .zip folder.) If I download it, Windows Explorer usually lets me explore it as a .zip folder, but recently, about 10% of the files I download (even if I never open them as a PDF) still download as a PDF and are therefore inaccessible.

Fixes: I've tried downloading instead of opening with Firefox. This works about 90-95% of the time; not sure what the issue is. I've tried re-assigning the file type in Windows Explorer, to no avail. I've adjusted Firefox preferences (from "always ask" to "use Windows Explorer.") I'm not sure this will help, but will try.

Any advice? I hate to sound fussy, but I'm pretty meticulous about saving my lessons and hate losing that much data on my students. While I can save each file independently, it takes much longer. Thank you!
