there are no words to express my gratitude for keeping updating the browser for 32 bits version

and at same time my hate for making me lose all my work.

it's second big time.

Last year I lost all my data and I could not recover it.

Now again happened.

I've been only updating it once 2-3 months, just to be sure doesn't happen again.

Can't you make sure AFTER the browser has started and everything is alright, just THEN you deleted old files? if something isn't alright, then keep using old browser files.

Can't you make inside firefox a panel where you just drag and drop the profile files with all user data and tadaa, old profile is back to being used again?

I could just install firefox from scratch, but is there a guide for how to import profile with catche/cookies/passwords and every single old data?

my folder doesn't has anymore the updated (launcher). only has firefox and few .so files (most probably not all needed)

What I do now?

The update Firefox 100.0.1 ( or 2 ) has a bug: Firefox doesn't "see" the Fritz!Powerline ( LAN over Powerline adaptors ) and thus I can't enter the Fritz!Box. Even typing the IP address of the Fritz!Box doesn't help, because there is "no connecting" beyond the PC. The hardware works, so I can send and receive emails, but I can't access the internet via the firfox browser. Stepping back to 99.0.1, I had to "create a new profile" and all my previous ( before the update to 100.0.1 ) settings were lost, all bookmarks vanished ... I am rather angry, you know? This mail I'm sending via my notebook, as I this connects via 100 Mbit Lan network from an other room and as I had to "register" just to be able to complain ...

The bar that contained those items disappeared in Firefox after the update to 110 I believe. I don't know how to get it back, I've searched settings. The bookmarks and all the data appear to still be there. It's been there since, I think, version .9 something. I updated to windows 10 from windows 7 about 3 months back. I noticed the change immediately. I don't even know what the bar is called. I still have my windows 7 machine since I am still trying to resolve problem with windows 10 and I'm even thinking of going back to window 7. It did the update to 109 without a problem.

HELP!!

It is probably something simple by windows is more a game machine to me. I learned computers on a GE-645 to give you an idea of how old I am.

For an unknown reason my Firefox browser locked up in the middle of a session. A full system re-start failed to fix the problem – all other software Apple Safari, Adobe Lightroom & Photoshop and Microsoft Office etc. continue to work as normal. Both Bitdefender and Malwarebytes full system scans have failed to identify any security issues.

To remove any possibility there was a macOS issue I successfully recovered the operating system from the mac in Recovery mode.

As the Firefox app would still not respond to the normal app opening process I removed the failed app from the mac “Applications” folder using the AppCleaner app and downloaded a new Firefox app file from the Mozilla Firefox site. I then dragged the downloaded file to the mac “Applications” folder and while holding the control key Ejected “Firefox” from the menu - the “Firefox” named disk icon on the mac screen and showing in the Finder “Locations” disappeared. Following this I successfully dragged Firefox from the “Applications” folder to the dock.

When the Firefox icon in the dock or in the Applications folder are selected the error message appears: The application “Firefox.app” can’t be opened. Repeated deletion of the Firefox app from the mac, restarting the mac, re-downloading the Mozilla Firefox app etc. etc. has resulted in the same failure. In the interim I am using Safari for the web but want to resume using Firefox asap due to Safari’s limitations.

Am I missing something in the Firefox installation procedure or there is an unrecognised security bug in the system? This is the first time I have had any issue arise with a Firefox installation process on either Windows or Apple systems.

I am not sure when exactly problem started but for few months I have problem with automatic update of firefox. It properly detects update and downloads it but when I click to restart browser and apply update (this should close browser and display update install bar) nothing happens - browser simply closes. When I launch it again and go into "about firefox" again I see spinning circle next to "installing update". Of course this update never installs. When I close it for 2nd time and go into "about firefox" it goes back to "update ready to install, click to restart" - and again, when I click it browser simply closes without restarting and installing update. I tried removing my profile, using safe mode, disabling antivirus. Issue seems to be related to firefox itself. I also tried removing mozilla maintenance service but it did not help. Does anyone have any idea what could be causing this? For now only way for me to update firefox is manually download full installer from website and then it installs latest version without any problems - until next month comes and I have to update it again.

Good afternoon. I just made a clean install of Ubuntu 22.04 in my system. I use Firefox, to navigate, study and download diverse things, including work files. When I tried to download those files in my google drive, it shows me the folder which I will use, everything right, but when I hit "Save", nothing happens. Do you know which is the problem? I've been experiencing weird downloads whenever I startup firefox. My antivirus prevents the download, and says that firefox.exe is the application responsible. I will include an image of the antivirus(Kaspersky) report. Deleting and reinstalling firefox seemed to fix the problem, but it returned after sometime; even when I just used youtube on firefox(I've tried this atleast 3 different times now). I am not sure if this is caused by one of my extensions, or if there is something else I've done to cause this. I'd just like to know if there is a way to fix it?

I'd like to import my Seamonkey profile data to Firefox, but Firefox doesn't recognize Seamonkey or its data. How can I do this? I'd like to keep my Firefox data synced to Seamonkey, and maybe synced the other way too. And I'd like Thunderbird to be able to sync to the Seamonkey email data too, for what it's worth. I thought the importing of data when Firefox starts would take care of importing SM data but it doesn't. Are there any commandline options for running Firefox that would get the importing done? I sure don't want to mess around with a huge html bookmarks file and there's other data in Seamonkey besides bookmarks that should be imported too. Help!

Firefox 109 is horrible and I am trying to revert to 108. I have the "Old Firefox Data" file, but have no idea how to get ALL that info back into 108. I am so very upset and frustrated right now! So much wasted time. I cannot believe Mozilla did this to us with no warning!!!!!!!! I have seen some articles on how to get the info back, but I don't really understand them. I am relatively computer-savvy, but I definitely do not understand how all this works. Some "Firefox for Dummies" at this point would be greatly appreciated. I am on a PC using Windows 10 professional 64-bit with automatic updates so it's current.

My HP Omen has 2 hard drives. Originally, Firefox was installed on the C: drive and working perfectly. In order to clear up space, I tried to use the Windows Move feature to move the program from the C: drive to the secondary (and larger) E: drive. Since then, Firefox won't work aside from opening a Firefox window. It will load no pages, settings, etc.

I've tried uninstalling Firefox from both the C: and E: drives. Searched for any remaining files and deleted them. Deleted Old Firefox Data folders. I've reinstalled Firefox, without the option of where to install it, but it still fails to work at all. I get an error message regarding a missing file, VCRUNTIME140_1.dll. I've searched for the file and it's NOT missing. It is in both the Firefox folder and the Windows/Systems32 folder.

I've searched for data in the Users folders that might relate to Firefox but NOTHING seems to work that will allow Firefox to work again. I've tried putting Firefox in Troubleshooting Mode but it won't restart as it says it needs to. It just won't work!

If anyone can just tell me how to COMPLETELY remove Firefox from both hard drives so that I can just do a clean, new Firefox install, that would be preferable. I know how to import bookmarks from Chrome.

52.9.0esr is claimed to be the last version for XP. Unfortunately it is not quite true. It is for XP SP2 ONLY. Trying to install on SP3 ends with the message that SP2 is required. I did a full reinstall of my Firefox browser because of a problem where it couldn't load some youtube diy videos (that did load in another browser). Before the reinstall I made bookmark and saved logins backups. No problems with backup/restore of bookmarks.

Exporting saved logins works perfectly and I get a readable csv file , but importing simply doesn't work. First of all the import feature was disabled by default (?). After making the change in the settings and restarting Firefox I see the 'import from file' option in the password manager.Big dissapointment however when you click the 'import from file' option and select the exported csv file because nothing happens ! No error, no result,nothing ! I tried several csv files from earlier backups but none work. Google on the other hand can import all of my csv's without any problem ! Any help on that would be greatly appreciated.

Since Firefox is set as my default browser I would have expected to see Firefox here in these registry entries as my default browser in lieu of Internet Explorer. However, if I delete those Registry entries, it then breaks any embedded links in MS Programs such as Outlook mail and Excel.
