I've been using the same firefox (installed every update) for over 10 years now and a lot of bookmarks have been accumulated. They are from different sources for different reasons/subjects/interests etc... I think when I reached ~430.000 or something like that it really slowed firefox down in a way that even clicking on a folder in the "bookmark symbol bar" (the one underneath the URL address fiel) takes 2-3 sec to open up and show the containing bookmarks. In the bm-manager going from one folder to another also takes a few seconds. I've now deleted about 40.000 but no change it's still lagging. and deleting 1000 takes about 1h.

I've looked but so far I couldn't find another tool or a better way to manage all these URLs WITH their title.

I still want to keep them, but managing them has become so slow and tedious. So if you have any suggestions especially for other tools to manage them....

I also think the possibility to export only a part of them (selected ones, or specific folders) would be helpful; maybe also a tool to clean up the database? (like defrag did for harddrives?). or split it to differnt files? I don't know.

I know 400.000 bookmarks are extreme... but well....

How default new page sites are selected? Is it possible to propose a new one?

I thought that featuring https://www.openstreetmap.org/ may be interesting (it is a Wikipedia of maps - with open data dataset contributed by various people, that anyone can edit and is already quite useful).

I think that it may be of interest for Firefox users.

After the browser update earlier today I cannot log into 'You Tube TV'. The browser keeps asking for my email and password over and over and never signs me in. It keeps telling that I am signed out and need to sign in, over and over. I cleared my cache and cookies. I changed my sign in from my yahoo email to my gmail account and it still will not work. If I use the chrome browser it works fine. Please Help.

 One of my email accounts Yahoo or Gmail appears to have been hacked. I received two phishing emails this week --3 if you count the last one who said she was calling on behalf of Medicare/Social Security and All members could get a preloaded card for several hundred dollars. I knew there was a plan to help certain folks, but it was not available to everybody. I asked her for the name of the plan and she hung up. the webpage she sent me to first or told me to go there where I could talk to a licensed agent. Do people who answer the phone have a license like insurance salespeople? Anyway, they had copied the govt. the site is right up the US sea.

Okay, just an example so I decided to try that KeeopassXC program you were offering but I could never get it to complete.

but it did something as I can't use my password They cancel your account if you tell them the truth --better just to say I need help resetting my password. They then ask you to send them a picture ID as in Driver's License. Noway I am going to do this --so I have at least some pretty valuable info if I can't get in.

Ny first time writing here - if any response please direct suggestions to pke225x2gmail or I guess I will check here. Don't know how you put people with possible solutions to seeker of HELP.

I have tried to install my password manager Sticky Password several times to the firefox browser. The current version of sticky password is installed and running but the firefox browser leaves me a message saying it is not installed or running.

I am having a very frustrating problem that is driving me huts.

Just the other day I was commenting in a text box like this one and I hit caps lock on my keyboard and a little grey box I had never seen before appeared with a locked lock. Then when I hit caps locks again on my keyboard an unlocked locked appeared in the little grey box. But it stays in cap locks and no matter what I do it won't go back to lower case. And when I say nothing shuts it off I mean its doing that on every site I try to comment on. Shutting down the browser does not help. And the only way I can get caps lock off is to actually shut down my whole computer and basically start all over.

You community volunteers are the best and quickest help I can get so I went straight to you for help.

Why some Wikipedia pages cannot activate reading mode under Debian 12 and Firefox ESR 115.9.1, for example this English Wikipedia page on Emmabuntüs does not allow reading mode to be activated while French, Spanish and German pages can ?

I am using Firefox Developper Edition, with extensions.langpacks.signatures.required set to false.

This addon, after download, installs fine as a temporary addon.

How can I install it permanently?

How come there is no option to turn off "Firefox Translation"? I speak three languages and every time I visit foreign web site, Firefox suggest translation to me. It's annoying.

Hi, i just got a new laptop (Asus Zephryus G16, 2560 x 1600 screen) and after installing Firefox there is a thin white border to the left of the screen when running in fit screen. This problem is not present when in a windowed mode or in F11 full screen.

I tried updating the Intel Arc drivers but this did not fix the problem. Changing to compatibility mode also did not fix te problem.

PS: in the uploaded screenshots it is quite dificult to see the white line(because the background is also white), but when the image is viewed in a new tab it is visible.

What strategies or technologies has the Firefox platform implemented to ensure efficient memory management and minimize resource consumption, particularly in handling large-scale web applications and multimedia content?

I recently have gotten a message about manually updating Firefox on my Windows 11 system. Even after I updated, I then I started getting the same message and also "Failed to check for updates" in the Firefox "about" box and settings page.

I even went about uninstalling Firefox and reinstalling it while deleting the Firefox Program Files and user AppData directories. I also checked for a Windows Firewall entry for the program.

Is there something in another directory or registry setting I need to delete or change? Or does Firefox use a different program for updating that needs a firewall rule?

I keep trying, but to no avail. Gmail works with Chrome on my PC. How can I fix this?

With the update to 115.10.0esr my bookmarks that were on the left hand side of the screen are gone. When I look at bookmarks there are a few, but I had multiple folders for different subjects, I do not find. I would like to have the procedure to return my bookmarks back to the left hand side of the screen with all of my bookmarks, bookmark folders, and other bookmarks like it was prior to the update. When I launch teams or slack from firefox on windows, I presume that a slack:// and teams:// or equivalent url is launched by the webpage.

As a developer working on Browser Picker, it would be quite handy if I could inspect these urls that gets launched, is there a way I can see the actual protocol url that got launched somewhere?

Once updated Firefox all old tabs didn't open ( and it was not possible to restore them anymore). So I'd like to restore all old tabs of yesterday session. Really important for my work. Looking forward to hearing from you asap. Regards, Orlando.
