Tell me how to delete Google as the default search engine & replace it with another one. If I can't do this I will remove Firefox and also the Mozilla VPN from all my computers. I have used Firefox for years and supported Mozilla. As far as I'm concerned you people have lost your way if you do not give people the option to change their default search engine.

I have a Mac desktop, a laptop with Windows 11, and an Android phone. I have about 120 bookmarks saved. On my Mac, they periodically backup fine and I can restore them if anything goes wonky. My phone and Windows laptop both show all the same bookmarks as the Mac. However, if I go to Manage Bookmarks to restore them on the Windows laptop, it shows many backups have occurred but only 5 bookmarks have been backed up. I have signed out of Firefox on all devices and signed back in. The Windows laptop did one correct backup showing the 120 or so bookmarks, and then every subsequent backup shows only 5 again. After a few weeks, the "correct" backup has been overwritten and is gone.

Anybody know what I can check to make the Windows laptop backup my bookmarks correctly?

I have Firefox set to reopen everything that was open when it closed. That only seemed to work if I had one window open, but I usually have a half dozen or more open with anywhere from a few tabs to well over 100 tabs in a window. The most reliable way I found to have those all reopen was to restart my computer. Firefox would be closed, but next time I opened it all the windows and tabs were there again. I needed to close Firefox a few minutes ago and didn't want to save all the other programs I was in the middle of, so (I thought I had done this before) I right-clicked the Firefox icon on the Taskbar and told it to close all windows. When I opened Firefox the next time it only opened one window (unfortunately the least important one), and only had two other windows in the History | Recently Closed Windows (also not very important windows). Are there any backup or other files where I could get back the other windows I had open? Unfortunately if I have a tab open for a month, for example, it is not saved in today's tabs, and it's not feasible to scroll back through thousands of listings in the history trying to figure out which tabs I had open. Thank you for any assistance!

Add old history to new

cor-el mentioned "The only way to merge history is by using Sync".

Does "merge" mean like it sounds, to combines the content, or does it mean the latest will overwrite the oldest, or one will overwrite the other under other conditions?

I am a bookkeeper and use QuickBooks Online (QBO)(AUS version) as my preferred accounting program, Intuit recommends using Chrome, but I had problems with that too, in that it has fields in QBO that will not work, I have switched to Firefox because it handles the 'black' look and the columns within the ledgers are more stable, however Firefox is constantly crashing it can recover most times to where I was, but it is most infuriating. Question is, is this a known problem and can it be fixed by changing the settings? Geoff Woodford

I just want to play sudoku from free-sudoku.com all I get is a lock with a bar through it. on the U'RL box. It just started 3 days ago after years of non-interference. When I click on the lock I don't have an unblock button in the popup. Why does firefox just put one there instead of just an arcane hours long wild goose chase to look for non-solutions. Yeah, I am frustrated over unilateral browser lockdowns.

I have some Bookmarks on my laptop. I have some of these Bookmarks (Not all) on my tablet, plus some other Bookmarks.

If I sync them, which direction does the sync work in? Will all my Bookmarks on my laptop now appear on my tablet (Which I do not want to happen)? Will all my Bookmarks on my tablet now appear on my laptop (Which I do want)? Will I end up with two copies of most Bookmarks, because all my laptop Bookmarks are transfered to my tablet, plus all my tablet Bookmarks are transfered to my laptop?

I cannot find any explanatioin of what Sync actually does.

on some website when I wish to type text into a text box, the text is not mirrored/visible as I type. I have zero clue how 150+ of my mother's passwords suddenly appeared in my account. Further, why the hell many of my passwords are now GONE! My mother has not used Firefox in ages and there is ZERO reason her Google Garbage should be anywhere NEAR my Firefox account. I have been using Firefox since my early teens but I will sure as hell jump ship if there is not a damn good explanation and fix for this utter BS!!!!!

When I go to www.belastingdienst.nl I receive the message: connection reset. The cause is not business of the site. Furthermore I can load all other sites on my laptop (windows 11) My old desktop (windows 10) does not have such problems. What can I do to reach www.belastinggdienst.nl on my laptop? It might have something to do with my firefox settings.

I set up a Primary Password, but I can easily get around it by clicking 'cancel' then clicking 'home' icon. then I can get into ANY of the links. when I update my website, the updates don't show when I use firefox although my husband who uses Edge, sees the updates. Is it a case of clearing the cache? How do I do that?
