I know it may sound a bit strange, but I would like to know WHY an extension is not allowed in a private window, so I might understand the reason why I'm not able to diagnose an issue I'm having with fucking amazon who has their cart all over the place for a misconfiguration in firefox that either I did or an extension is causing, however I'm unable to figure out which because I can't enable extensions in private windows, where the issue does not happen, so I'm not able to reproduce and isolate the problem. Specifically, this article: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/extensions-private-browsing Plus, I was kinda expecting I could run STG in private too, since it offer such nice and rich grouping and memory management features vanilla FF does not (PS: please take inspiration and bake it inside!!) OK so I was having some issues with firefox where I had to reinstall it and this did in fact resolve the issues I was having.

Problem I have is this though when I reinstalled it I first backed up my chrome folder which had all my custom CSS to move the tabs to the bottom of the header area and when I then reinstalled FF I then copied the folder back into my profile folder using the More Info under the help menu to make sure I was in fact in the right profile folder.

Problem is the code isn't moving the tabs and I seem to remember some issues with this the last time we had to fix FF that something had changed with the Chrome folders and such.

So what do I need to do to get my tabs back on the bottom again as I hate them up top!

Hyperlinks giving bizarre yellow box in upper right.

I have a Dropbox Paper document that I use for my bookmarks. It lists the name of the site (with link attached) and hints as to my username/password for any given site I use.

For years, it has worked just fine, but trying to solve a different problem, something happened (in my settings?) that renders those hyperlinks non-working. When I click on, say Facebook, it formerly took me right to FB. NOW it gives me a weird yellow box in the upper right corner that says "about:blank" in the upper left of the box, and 3 white boxes at the lower right of the yellow box "Allow" "Deny" "Close." If I click on "Allow," I get a blank page. My navigation doesn't seem to recognize the links I've placed in the Doc.

A friend on FB posted a link to a YouTube video and when I clicked on that, I got the yellow box with the proper URL and a white box option to continue. I've tried to recreate that particular box, but, apparently, once it's accepted, it's OK from there on out.

I have tried deleting the link from the Paper Doc and reinstating it, and I still get the yellow box.

What have I done and how the heck do I get rid of that yellow box?

How can I reset my sync data and sync again? In short, there is an 'overwrite' situation; the old data remains while the new data is synced over it.

system info - i7 - 8GB RAM, windows 10, one 128 GB SSD and other 512GB SSD

Since yesterday, it has been crashing after every 2-5 minutes; in troubleshooter mode as well...

I ran Windows RAM memory test, it turned out to be okay... I ran a Dell hardware test, it informed me that my fan is not working properly; though I doubt its the reason for my Firefox crashing

Hello! My computer is Win 7 (my system info; the same with greater detail). I've been relying on Waterfox (mainly to download videos; it's not the browser I use regularly) for years, and it has never given a problem, far as web access. I have not updated the browser, main reason being my downloading add-on (which happens to be the popular "Video DownloadHelper") behaves in a less preferred way in my other browsers. (I fear an update would put the kibosh on the better way that program functions in Waterfox.)

Suddenly Waterfox has become moody (I don't know if BB code is going to work here, but the following image is a scrrenshot of "Hmm. We're having trouble finding that site." If not showing below, the direct link.):

I am hoping the ones reading may have suggestions for me to get my Waterfox back.


I did install a VPN recently, but I don't think that's an issue. Another point of consideration: Waterfox can access the internet in Safe Mode.


I consulted this handy-dandy page before bothering you:


7 Fixes to Try When Waterfox Is Not Loading Webpages on Windows


1) Weak internet connection. (Nope.) 2) Corruption in Waterfox installation files. (This possibility seems remote. After all, it was working well until now. ) 3) Malicious extensions (I have tried disabling all extensions, and there aren't that many.) 4) Webpages will also fail to load if there's something wrong with the browser's code. (This "code," whatever that is. was working fine for all this time. A quick look-see led to this meaning of "code": "..Code is made from C++ and C. Also javascript, pyhton, ruby, and many other languages." That seems to be a long shot.)


Their recommendations (leaving out the ones that are not relevant):


2) Update Waterfox. (I'm trying to avoid that. Of course, this might be the solution; however, It's not as though my version is that old and would have stopped working. Of course... who knows.)

4) Check Your DNS (Sounds like a lot of trouble; I don't think this will make a difference, as other browsers present no problem, and WF works in Safe Mode.)

5) Clear Waterfox Cache and Cookies (I did that.)

6)  Remove Unwanted Extensions  (I did that, by disabling the toggles, as suggested.)

7) Reset Waterfox.

That might be the last resort, and I have the feeling a reset is not going to do the trick. Doing this will get rid of the video downloading extension I'm trying to preserve, and instead I'm hoping one or more experts might come up with another suggestion that will work.


As an additional point, under Waterfox's "Options" > "Network Settings" > "Settings," where the default choice under "Configure Proxy Access to the Internet" is "Use system proxy settings," I fooled around by checking the first two, "No proxy" and "Auto-detect proxy settings for this network," and neither selection did anything. I could not try the remaining choice, "Manual proxy configuration," because I have no idea what figures or numbers to place for that one. If the BB code for the screenshot below does not show, here is the direct image; I'm also using the "attachment" option below.

I have Hulu live tv streaming and the video is not streaming. I get a black screen when I select a channel or an item from the library. This also happens when I try to stream local tv stations' 24 hr streaming sites. Other streaming services (Disney+, ESPN+, Netflix... etc) stream just fine. Hulu works perfectly in Microsoft Edge but I truly prefer not to use it. I've been using Firefox for years. This has happened after the latest update of Firefox. The update before this latest I experienced a similar problem and using the trouble shoot mode narrowed it down to a problem with Adblocker Ultimate extension. I deleted the extension and reinstalled it and the problem corrected. I did the same this time and no success. I have cleared the cache and reset Firefox and still the problem exists. TIAF any help.

They did check my settings at the provider level but said everything looks good. I've thoroughly checked and rechecked all my email settings and am unable to see a problem. I'm thinking that since I am not signed into my browser (Mozilla Firefox) with it telling me my account is disconnected that I need to Sync my account, but I cannot do that.

So, I have been trying to Sync my Mozilla account but being I have a problem with email I am unable to receive your email code to completely sign into my Mozilla account. What I am wanting to do is to sign into my account and add a secondary email address so to receive your sign in code so that I am able to finish syncing my account.

I am lost to know what to do from here! You will be unable to reply to me using my regular primary email address because as I say, I cannot send or receive, so how can you even help me? Please help me somehow! I'm sure you have my phone number being I would think it's on my account. Can you phone me? Hopefully! Not sure whether I should put a phone number or the added secondary email address in here so you can add it for me. I can't sign into Mozilla to do anything. I went through my Google account to get this far so to hopefully send this to you. Your help would surely be appreciated! I am running Linux Mint 19 and when I tried to activate the container extension some options were not selectable and a msg appeared at the top of my settings: "Your browser is being managed by your organization" I am a home user and never had anything to do with any corporate PC. The policy it lists is: disableappupdate true. Everything I see in the help database for this pblm pertains to Windows. As I said above I am running linux mint.

what is going on here???

I have just reinstalled my operating system after some issues. After reinstalling my browser, I logged into my browser after changing the password, but now no data is being synced. The open tabs, bookmarks and saved passwords were the most important, but none of that has synced back. After waiting for a little bit I decided to press the synchronize now button, but that also didn't do anything. Is there perhaps something wrong with the syncing right now? Or is there another way to get that data back? I didn't save it as I normally don't have to.

Hi! I seem to be having an issue with my browser. Every now and then, blue squares will partially or completely replace the icons on my toolbar an search bar, and disappear on its own after a while.

For reference, I currently have several tabs open (13) on a split screen, but only the icons on de left window are affected by this. This started happening this month, prior to this I was able to have multiple tabs open on a split screen without issue.

I'll attach 2 images so you can see what I mean.

I appreciate any advice I get to fix this.
