I cannot get Firefox to open at all. This has been an issue on this laptop for a while now. I un-installed it including removing the Program Files sub-folder for Firefox. After the installer completed, it tried to open it and it crashed. I have the latest Windows 10 updates installed and have run security scans on this laptop from various vendors. There is no spyware, viruses or other malware.

I can use Firefox withou problems. But after I close it, it takes 5 to 15 seconds, then the Windows message "Firefox has a problem and must be closed" appears. I cannot start Firefox anymore, I have to reboot. Microsoft Explorer still works. Open office also seems to have a problem.

What I tried so far (without success): Run firefox without any add-on Remove firefox using Windows deinstaller and re-install from the Mozilla page Remove the Anti-Virus software Use MozBackup and load a one year old backup (far older than the problem)
I am using Firefox 51.0.1 (32-Bit) and Windows 7, all important updates installed, last KB 890830
Thank you very much for any helpful comment in advance

Hi all
e.g. ask for 'xyz.com/dir1/dir2/abc.php' but get 'xyz.com' instead.
If we reload the page immediately it comes up correctly but wait too long and it goes wrong again.
It does this 30 - 40+ times a day!
Only firefox seems to have this problem. I tried adding 'www' to the front so above would become 'www.xyz.com/dir1/dir2/abc.php' This worked fine for a day or 2 then it started going wrong again. The content of the web page makes no difference - I substituted a 3 byte file for a problem page so it only contained 'abc' = no markup at all and it STILL went wrong.
actual typed url: http://www.sdf-curtains.co.uk/imapTest.php actual page seen: http://www.sdf-curtains.co.uk
are there any settings to adjust? I have not touched about:config I swear (yet!)
Thanks very much
Steven

Recently Firefox always starts in firstrun mode. I have tried various ways to stop this happening. I have: 1. Refreshed Firefox 2. I dont have Zencast, Mcafee or Norton 360. Nothing else on my machine changed. 3. I don't have a user.js file.
I have been using Firefox for years as a developer. Its becoming unusable for me. I can't waste so much time trying to get it to work.

So I have two website links.
https://example.ex.myuniversity.ca/ https://example.ex.myuniversity.ca/network
Now these two links are ENTIRELY different. There is no button on the first link's page to access the second link. Absolutely nothing. The only way to access the second link is to type in the entire thing (or bookmark it, or have it predicted by firefox). I NEVER visit the first link. I have no use for it whatsoever. They are, though, identical except for the "/network". They just lead different places and are based off of different servers.
My problem is that Firefox refuses to predict the second link. It will only ever predict the first. I have the second link bookmarked. I have erased all traces of the first link from my history. I have clicked "delete" after highlighting the first link in Firefox's predict dropdown menu. Nothing works. It will only ever predict the first link. For preference reasons, I dislike having to go and click on a bookmark, so I want it to be predicted. How do I do this? How can I override the first link and force Firefox to predict the second link?

When I log onto secure websites to pay credit cards etc. the initially send me a text or e-mail so that it verifies my computer. It recognizes my computer up until I do a Firefox update, at which time I have to redo the entire verification process again because the sites no longer recognize my computer. Firefox is currently trying to get me to update my browser but I'm avoiding it because I have payments to make next Weds. and I really don't want to go through the constant re-authentication. Can I stop updates or is there some method to prevent it from making my computer no longer recognized?

It's unbelievable how difficult it is to find the refresh button in this browser
