FF 2.0.0.20 and Win98SE (don't laugh, this IS stuck in a time warp for a reason). For some time FF has been crashing with "FF has executed an invalid instruction ... and will close down" (or similar msgbox) while I am just quietly reading a page. Shutdown/restart/resume_session and life continues. These could be after half an hour of FF or repeat after as little as a minute. Several removes (using Add/remove Program under Control Panel) and reinstalls made no difference to this behaviour. On the last remove, the registry was "cleaned" of mozilla/firefox residue, and since the subsequent reinstallation the behaviour in the subject line has appeared and persisted.

I have tried the set_IE_as_default_and_then_set_FF_as_default but no difference.

Apartf rom everyone shouting "upgrade" all at the same time, are there any suggestions what is amiss (in the reg?) and what can be done to rectify this?
