Change proxy configuration while browsing: Connection Settings window shaded !?

I'm on windows 10.

Issue is simple but painful: I frequently change my proxy setting from a manual proxy to no proxy. Problem is when Firefox is open with some tabs the Connection Settings windows is shaded and can't be modified. I have to restart Firefox. Is that a bug or a feature ?

I tried to deactivate any plugin but it does not resolve the problem
