Username and password not remembered - Steps listed in help page do not resolve?

and verified these are all ok.

Never the less, when I go to a site requiring authentication I get the offer to remember password, but when I click the "remember" button nothing happens and no password is saved. As if the site has locked out the feature. However, it works fine on my other pc's for the same websites.
