Thunderbird is an email client, so it can download yahoo and work with the mail locally. It is not "like Yahoo" in that is does not have an email address of it's own.

Thunderbirds strength for me is is manages my Gmai , Outlook.com, Hotmail, Yahoo and ISP mail accounts all in one place at one time.

I am very appreciatve Matt for such a timely reply.....I will consider my options according to the info you sent. Since I basically just use yahoo, I don't see it as a real need...it is, however, an interesting concept and will certainly keep it in mind.
