Get message"Firefox is already running but not responding. I have to close by using Task Manager-Processes

After quitting Firefox and then trying to open again, get message"Firefox is already running but is not responding". I found help instructing me to open Task Manager and using processes find firefox.exe and end process. I want to fit the problem. It just started doing this last week. Before that - no problem.
