Third Party Session Cookies
Hello,
I am a college professor at University of New Haven, which uses the Canvas online learning system. Within Canvas, we have access to the Kaltura media content system where we can create, upload, and share videos with our students through the Canvas application.
This has worked fine until recently. Now, whenever I try to access my Kaltura media through Canvas, I get the following error message:
"It seems your browser is blocking 3rd party session cookies which are required for the Kaltura application. To resolve this issue, please update your settings to allow 3rd party cookies." (see attached photo for reference)
I assume there was a routine Firefox update sometime recently that imposed stricter restriction on third-party cookies. But I have followed all the instructions here (https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/third-party-cookies-firefox-tracking-protection?redirectslug=disable-third-party-cookies&redirectlocale=en-US), and I am still unable to access Kaltura through Canvas (I get the same error message).
FYI - I am able to access Kaltura through Canvas on Chrome, so I know this is a Firefox-specific issue. But I hate Chrome and want to keep using Firefox!
Is this something you can help me with?
Let me know - thanks!

You can try to create a cookie allow exception with the proper protocol (https://) for involved domains.
- Settings -> Privacy & Security
Cookies and Site Data: "Manage Exceptions"
I have done everything listed on all of the articles about it, even at one point completely disabling ANY blocking of anything and was still unable to view Kaltura videos.
Since there are a few posts about it today, it seems the upgrade to Firefox 96 broke something big for Kaltura. This is really, really frustrating.
Hi Dee, if you have a little more time to experiment, please see this earlier thread:
