I get an error saying "windows cannot access the specified drive, path or file. You may not have appropriate permissions to access the item" after latest windows 10 upgrade and firefox will not run at all. It is trying to access my users subdirectory

Try to reinstall Firefox as a normal user and make sure to delete the Firefox program folder if it is still present.
