I can't open pictures, PDFs or documents in FireFox, IE OK.I get the error message "Windows cannot access the specified device, path, or file. You may not have the appropriate permissions to access the item for Firefox.

A bit of online research leads me to believe that this could be anti-virus related. Your AV might be blocking Firefox from accessing the location where your media is stored.
