With e mails, can only view my SENT box; can't get into INBOX

With Thunderbird e mails, I can only view my SENT box; can't get into INBOX

There's a flash of a moment when I can see the Inbox behind what's on the screen but it disappears and I can't get into it - or into DRAFTS OR DELETE. I've tried restarting the computer.

Can anyone help here (or if by e mail answers to gmail address so I can read them but the problem is on my waitrose.com address.) Any suggestions gratefully received.
