Ff 28 does not connect to check Add-ons/plug-ins. It works with Aurora but not Ff 28. Also Ff 28 does not provide access to bbc.co.uk/sport Aurora does

When checking the status of Add-ons the Window https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/plugincheck/ does not open in FF28 It worked in FF27 and Aurora 30 (latest)

Sounds likely to be a Firewall or a security software related problem. Note however if checking plugins that the service may not be working properly at present and could for instance report Java as vulnerable when it is up-to-date.

BTW Are you running multiple versions of Firefox simultaneously on the same machine. Or comparing machines; or the results after uninstalling and reinstalling.

Is it all of

  • bbc.co.uk
  • Or only specific parts and specific content of bbc.co.uk/sport that you are having issues with ?
  • Do both of the above links work ?
    If not what error message do you get ?
  • Are you in and the UK and using a UK ISP ?
