Why when Firefox starts does message comes up that "The colour scheme has been changed to Windows 7 Basic"?
I am running Windows 7. When Firefox starts the message comes up that the colour scheme has been changed to Windows 7 basic. The message then goes on to talk about the programme being incompatible. When I close Firefox the colours revert to normal. This has only just started to happen.

Check that you do not run Firefox in compatibility mode or with a reduced screen resolution.
You can open the Properties of the Firefox desktop shortcut via the right-click context menu and check the "Compatibility" tab.
Make sure that all items are deselected in the "Compatibility" tab of the Properties window.

hello Greylin, can you try it with an updated graphics driver? this should be the right link for your system: http://www.geforce.com/drivers/results/73810
I have downloaded the latest driver but it has made no difference. I don't know if it's related but Internet Explorer has also stopped working completely. The window opens up then closes.
does it make a difference when you disable hardware acceleration in firefox > options > advanced > general?

Have just tried this but it has made no difference.
Thank you. I have unchecked Disable desktop composition and Firefox is not changing the colours anymore.
