gmail wont let me log in. Says my cookies function is turned off. I have reset cache and cookies, i have adjusted privacy settings for history to custom and set third party cookies to always and to keep until expire. I have followed some forum help and opened history to show all and right clicked forget webpage. I have shown all cookies and removed and even reset Firefox. Yet nothing seems to work. some other websites that require log in work fine, and others don't ie the webpage i use for school at local university doesn't work. its an .edu page and never loads. ctrl+shift+k seems like the cookies are blocked one way or the other maybe on the receiving side. please advice!

If clearing cookies doesn't work then it is possible that the cookies.sqlite file that stores the cookies is corrupted.

Rename (or delete) cookies.sqlite (cookies.sqlite.old) and delete other present cookie files like cookies.sqlite-journal in the Firefox profile folder in case the file cookies.sqlite got corrupted.

You can also check if DOM Storage is enabled.

Is it possible that your security software might be filtering cookies (either "first party" or "third party" cookies) or other content externally to Firefox? The first place to check would be in your security software, especially any privacy settings. You might or might not be able to bypass the software in Firefox's connection settings:

orange Firefox button (or Tools menu) > Options > Advanced > Network "mini-tab" > Settings button

"Use system proxy settings" or "No proxy" typically will connect the same way as Internet Explorer.
