Only downloads as view attachment (xx) not as actual file, ie filename.doc or whatever
When I open or save an attachment from an e-mail, it only opens or saves as "view attachment (xx)" I would like to be able to open or save the actual file, ie filename.doc, or filename.xls, or filename.pdf.

Are you able to right-click the attachment hyperlink and use Save Link As... ?
If that doesn't work, try asking about that at your webmail service provider's support forum or help desk. Some webmail portals use a side-server delivery system to recover attachments which doesn't have a distinct hyperlink for downloading from the contextual menu "save link as".
