Firefox all of a sudden started to ask if i wanna allow it to make changes to my computer. why is it doing this and how ccan i stop it. it never did it before.

2 months ago i bought a new laptop and made the switch firefox. today it started prompting windows to ask me for permission to make changes to this computer. i keep my computer locked down pretty tight as i am a gamer and have had accounts hacked before. why all of a sudden is firefox wanting to make changes and how can i stop it from prompting?
