Downloaded firefox 4.o. Will not work now. I have Mac OS 10.4.11. I am very disappointed in firefox. I need help, I lost a lot of important stuff.

Firefox up dated and restarted. The firefox screen said that it recommended upgrading to 4.0, so I did. 4.0 replaced the older version and now does not work.

You can get the latest version of Firefox 3.6 from http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/all-older.html

When you install it, it should use your existing bookmarks and other user data.

Mozilla are working to prevent Mac users with non-compatible systems from getting the notification about Firefox 4, and also not displaying the "Download Firefox 4" button on http://www.mozilla.com

Thanks that did the trick. I hope that something will be done to make future versions of firefox amendable to older Mac OS's. Not everyone can afford new computers every couple of years.

For older Macs that aren't supported in Firefox 4.0, try TenFourFox for PowerPC's running Mac 10.4.11 & 10.5.8 .
