stripped down version of Firefox for Android

more options

Dear Support,

I hope somebody may be able to help. Many years ago, Firefox used to have a 'stripped down' version. This type of version, I cannot for the life of me remember its name, was able to be used to open the browser. It was a minimal version of the browser, starting with no bookmarks, no passwords, no extensions etc. It just allows the browser to start. It can then be used by developers to test out if the browser works with a certain app.

Be most grateful for the name of this version of Firefox for Android. Would just like to report a bug with the latest version of Firefox for Android using the Bugzilla system, Marek

Dear Support,

Yes, found out from someone else that what I was looking for was Safe Mode, starting the browser in Safe Mode. Could you please tell me how I need to start Firefox for Android in Safe Mode? Marek

It sounds more like "Firefox Focus": https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.mozilla.focus&hl=en_US

I think Focus might still use Android's WebView browsing engine instead of Mozilla's GeckoView browsing engine, which is used in regular Firefox for Android. Meaning it works more like a custom version of Chrome. That might still be useful for testing, but Firefox for Android may render pages differently.
