My Maingear laptop bluescreens, I can boot via USB stick and have been able to copy off the files from c:\Users\(account name)\AppData\Roaming\Thunderbird.

I purchased a new Microsoft Surface Pro and installed Thunderbird, but I can not find this same data folder. I can make the troubleshooting information from the Surface Pro if that would be helpful.

No, do not install the x86 version, as that is for 32-bit. The default from Thunderbird is from Thunderbird.net and installs to c:\Program Files. There may be a few discrepancies in the MS version related to troubleshooting, but no problems with email to my knowledge.

I have configured one of my email profiles, and I did the troubleshooting steps as indicated. I get the following;
