Thunderbird keeps giving me messages that I should compact the inbox. The "saved value" value keeps growing over time. Despite selecting "compact folder", the size of the inbox does not change.

My inbox is at 1.3 Gigs. Compaction should save about 700 Mb.

I've seen the temporary file popup in the directory during compaction, however the inbox file is not changing size.

Never mind

Seemed to have finally solved whatever was wrong by running "repair folder" and the redoing the compaction.
