When playing videos on Google drive on 720p, it intermittently stops. If resolution is set to automatic, resolution changes to 360p. On another browser it works fine on 720p. The issue persists with hardware acceleration disabled and in safe mode.

This is just a suggestion not a solution but you could try 'Drive for Desktop' (Windows executable) which would provide a more integrated desktop experience than a browser.
